Information Design Studies
Case Study: Data Visualization, Infographic
A collection of studies exploring information design through data visualization, editorial layouts, and visual systems. Each project investigates different ways of organizing and communicating complex information.
1. Year without a Summer
An editorial information design project visualizing the global impact of the 1815 Mount Tambora eruption. Through data visualization and narrative sequencing, the project transforms historical events and scientific data into a clear visual story.
2. Chronicles of K-Dramas : Genre Insights
A data visualization project exploring monthly trends among the Top 20 Korean dramas of 2024. Color, pattern, and shape are used to represent genre, content format, and narrative structure, creating a unified visual overview of changing trends.
3. Seoul Subway History
This data visualization project traces the evolution of Seoul’s subway system from the 1970s to 2024, highlighting how new lines and stations accumulated alongside the city’s growth. Using the current subway map as a reference, each decade is visualized as a separate layer. Printed on translucent paper and stacked chronologically, the layers allow viewers to experience the network’s expansion as a physical timeline, revealing the changing density and structure of Seoul over time.
